Synthesis of Selenium-Containing Chitosan Derivatives and Their Antibacterial Activity

چکیده
Abstract The interaction of chitosan with 3-(chloromethyl)-[1,2,4]selendiazole[4,5-a]pyridin-4 bromide results in water-soluble, selenium-containing, cationic derivatives. Derivatives degrees substitution 0.15, 0.45, and 0.65 were obtained. These derivatives are characterized by a pronounced vitro antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus Escherichia coli , the increases an increase their degree substitution. highly substituted derivative is comparable to that conventional antibiotics ampicillin gentamicin.
